PADI IDC Staff Instructor Course
The PADI IDC Staff Instructor Course is a 14 Day Course and a step towards the prestigious Master Instructor rating and the prerequisite to becoming a PADI Course Director. The IDC Staff Instructor is an experienced PADI Master scuba diver trainer with the skills necessary for assisting a Course Director in conducting an IDC. The IDC Staff Candidate is tested in the same areas as the IDC candidate but with higher passing grades. You will also be taught the procedure for evaluating IDC candidates and will be tested for grading consistency. As a PADI IDC Staff Instructor you will be qualified to:
Teaching status, updated IDC Staff Instructors are authorized to staff instructor development programs and independently teach PADI Assistant Instructor courses
Work closely with PADI Course Directors to develop instructor candidates’ teaching abilities as well as shape their attitudes as dive professionals.
Counsel instructor candidates on improving skills and developing effective teaching presentations
Have a strong working knowledge of current PADI standards, programs and procedures
Have a good sound knowledge of dive theory
Assist with instructor level continuing education programs.
The Course Prerequisites to enroll in the IDCS Instructor course, an individual must:
Be renewed and in Teaching Status as a PADI Instructor for the current year
Be 18 years old
Hold a PADI Master Scuba Diver Training rating
Agree to conduct all levels of diver training consistent with the standards and philosophy outlined in the PADI Instructor Manual
Agree to use the PADI system and components in their entirety
